The training division initiates and supervises the job development of fire fighters commencing with the probationary period and continuing throughout their career. In addition, the division is involved in continual training programs designed to meet training requirements according to NFPA standards, maintain accurate records on all personnel, and improve fire fighting techniques and the protection of fire fighters. It evaluates new tools and appliances before their use in the department. The division also is charged with safety operations on the fire ground and in other areas of the department.
